The evolution of rave culture: the PUTSCH underground journey
In the heart of Paris, PUTSCH is building far more than events.
In the heart of Paris, PUTSCH has quietly been building far more than events. The collective is shaping a way of working, and it doesn't look like what the rest of the scene does.
Where it comes from
The first night went up in a bare warehouse in Montreuil. Borrowed sound system, pay-what-you-want entry, a full room. No communications budget: one story, one link, and word of mouth.
That format wasn't an aesthetic choice, it was a constraint. But it imposed a discipline that stuck: in a bare warehouse, nothing rescues an average line up. You can't hide behind a headliner.
What got built
Four branches stacked up: events, booking, creative marketing and clothing. None of it was planned : each one grew out of a gap nobody else was filling.
Each one funds or feeds the others. Merch pays for production. Production feeds the agency. The agency brings in artists. None of it was planned.
What counts
A good night isn't a full room. It's a room where people stay until the end, where the team is identifiable, and where nobody had to leave early because we made them uncomfortable.
That's measurable, and it's the only metric we really watch.
The next chapter happens in warehouses. We're working on it.
